Life is good. Your TiVo is busy recording your favourite programs for you to watch when you want and lo and behold you see the opportunity to download a movie to watch at your leisure during the week!

The Blockbuster Movie of the Week is our first major download service. In essence we are "crawling before we walk" because we want the TiVo family of users to have a very good understanding of their home internet service and how their this service can help deliver them great content through their TiVo media device.

Currently, TiVo owners can click on the Gold Star in TiVo Central and navigate through the process of downloading a movie. We do not charge for this movie - the only fee is the cost of your own internet service to deliver the movie into your TiVo.

At the moment the service is delivering only one movie a week to download and watch later in the week. However, soon Blockbuster will be launching a Video On Demand service of some 100+ movies containing both Video On Demand (VOD) release films as well as TV release films via broadband directly into a TiVo media device.

The VOD release films will be pay-per-view and will require registration at Blockbuster.com.au (our movie partner) to use this service. The TV release films will be ad supported which means you do not need to pay to view these films.

Regardless of whether you pay or not it is imperative that you have an internet connection that has a capacity large enough to support the download of films and other content. The last thing we want is for you to exceed your download limit and be charged a fee from your internet service provider.

So to avoid any surprises on your internet bill - let's take it slowly...one fantastic movie a week to enjoy and then get ready to enjoy a multitude of films coming soon to a TiVo near you!

...Just another fantastic reason to own a TiVo media device. If you're thinking of buying one but can't handle the full price at once - you can always purchase one online and pay for it over ten or twelve months!
